Learning & Skill Development | P3 U.S. Program

Equipping graduate students with skills to generate rigorous evidence

The AIR Pipeline Partnership Program (P3) expands opportunities for learning and practical skill development for graduate students at P3 universities, ensuring they are well equipped to contribute to the future of behavioral and social science research.

Made possible by the AIR Opportunity Fund, P3 training opportunities connect students with experienced AIR experts, creating two-way learning exchanges that advance our work and the broader field.

P3 Survey Design and Methodology Workshop

Register for the Workshop

In this multi-day virtual workshop, doctoral students at P3 U.S universities learn to design scientifically valid surveys that are inclusive of all populations. Led by AIR experts, this hands-on training walks participants through every step of survey development—from planning to putting it into action—while showing how to include cultural and language considerations along the way.

Workshop materials are drawn from research on survey methodology and offer guidance and practical examples for designing and administering high-quality surveys. As part of their participation, students develop a survey design and survey items in their research focus area.

Quantitative Evidence Synthesis Training

The Quantitative Evidence Synthesis Training (QuEST) program equips the next generation of social science researchers to use powerful quantitative evidence synthesis approaches in their work.

Designed for graduate students at P3 U.S. universities, the 2026 QuEST program offerings include a virtual learning opportunity; a week-long, immersive in-person experience; and additional support for in-person training participants as they incorporate evidence synthesis into their graduate research.

Pop-up Learning & Skill Building Opportunities

As a convenor of ideas and perspectives in social science research, AIR P3 brings students together with leading voices in the field for special events, discussions, and learning opportunities. Whether examining the implications of artificial intelligence, or offering deep dives into using data analysis software, these virtual and in-person events respond to community need and interest at our P3 universities and partners.
