Pathways to Work Evidence Clearinghouse 2.0
As the body of research on employment-focused interventions for job seekers with low incomes continues to grow, so does the need to expand access and interpret the evidence being produced. Practitioners, policymakers, and researchers need a reliable source for locating and assessing evidence to help them make informed decisions on how to improve program design and outcomes, allocate public resources, and expand the existing knowledge base.
The Pathways to Work Evidence Clearinghouse is designed to be this source of information. It was launched and is overseen by the Office of Planning, Research & Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to organize the research on interventions and review their effectiveness for improving outcomes related to:
- Earnings;
- Employment;
- Public benefit receipt; and
- Education and training.
The website now houses and compares research on more than 292 programs and strategies based on over 370 individual studies. The Clearinghouse also produces a suite of products, including reports, briefs, videos, and web-based products that summarize and synthesize findings from the evidence.
AIR's Role in Improving Functionality
AIR is currently supporting ACF’s Pathways to Work Evidence Clearinghouse 2.0 project to improve the functionality of the Clearinghouse by:
- Updating evidence standards;
- Developing cost review standards;
- Engaging with end users to enhance the Clearinghouse’s usability; and
- Highlighting information that key audiences care about most.
