Helping Military Communities Build Effective Prevention Strategies: The Integrated Prevention Technical Assistance Center
Image
AIR operated the Integrated Prevention Technical Assistance Center (IPTAC), funded by an interagency agreement between the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. IPTAC focused on preventing harassment, sexual assault, retaliation, suicide, and domestic and child abuse in military communities.
Through the work of IPTAC, AIR supported the DoD in building capacity to prevent these harmful behaviors by providing quality training and technical assistance across all branches and echelons of the military.
IPTAC’s services and support were based on the unique needs of military audiences and include:
- Individualized, one-on-one technical assistance;
- Service-specific and cross-Service trainings and workshops;
- Digital learning opportunities;
- Products and resources; and
- Monitoring and evaluation of these services and supports.
