Trauma-Informed Organizational Capacity Scale

How trauma-informed is your organization?

AIR’s Trauma-Informed Organizational Capacity Scale (TIC Scale)* helps you answer this question. Our TIC Scale is the first psychometrically validated instrument to gauge the extent to which health and human service organizations provide trauma-informed care.

Your organizations can use this instrument to

  • assess current capacity to provide trauma-informed care,
  • identify areas for improvement, and
  • monitor changes in practice over time.

*AIR served as sole funder in the development of the Trauma-Informed Organizational Capacity Scale with the Center for Social Innovation and leveraged its prior work, served on the expert panel, provided methodological expertise, and acted in an advisory capacity. AIR shares distribution rights to the instrument with the Center for Social Innovation where the tool is also known by the name “TICOMETER”.
