Educator Well-Being Community of Practice and Resources
The well-being of educators is crucial for creating an effective and supportive workplace, where individuals feel valued and safe, and where students experience positive conditions for learning and success. Beginning in 2022, AIR and its Center on Great Teachers and Leaders, in collaboration with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and WestEd, supported a one-year, multistate community of practice focused on student and educator well-being.
As part of this effort, researchers from AIR and the Center on Great Teachers and Leaders authored Moving Beyond Self-Care: Practice and Policy Conditions to Support Educator Wellbeing. Drawing upon research evidence and lessons learned from the community of practice, the resource delves into the multifaceted factors influencing educator well-being and outlines six strategic actions state leaders can implement to advance educator well-being initiatives in their jurisdictions.
