As the higher education in prison (HEP) field expands rapidly, practitioners and intermediaries need easy access to trusted tools, research, and guidance. Too often, helpful resources are scattered and hard to find, making it harder to support strong program design and quality implementation. The Resource Community for Higher Education in Prison (RCHEP) was created to solve that problem.
RCHEP is a centralized, online hub that brings together evidence-based and practitioner-informed resources to support HEP programs and technical assistance providers. The site helps uses find what they need in one place, whether they’re designing programs, strengthening implementation, or supporting continuous improvement across the HEP ecosystem.
Developing the RCHEP Website
AIR is leading the ongoing development of RCHEP website to ensure it remains accessible, useful, and responsive to the field. The platform hosts key frameworks, curated resources developed by the field, and materials refined through project work streams. It is designed for easy navigation while also encouraging connection and engagement across programs, technical assistance providers, and partners.
Since its launching in November 2023, RCHEP has built a strong and growing audience, signaling clear demand for a shared resource hub. Ongoing user feedback and site analytics guide continuous improvements so the platform can adapt to emerging needs and support innovation over time.
