Melinda Griffin

Senior Researcher

Melinda Griffin's primary focus is on K-16 mathematics and STEM instruction and teacher development. Her responsibilities at AIR include serving as the individual program administrator for the evaluation of the Defense STEM Education Consortium; leading implementation on the Institute of Education Sciences-funded Simulated Instruction in Mathematics Professional Development Study; directing the instructional coaching work for the Florida Network for School Improvement; and serving as a partnership lead for the Teaching Fractions Toolkit work for the Regional Educational Laboratory Midwest. She also co-leads the math collaborative for the Council of Chief State School Officers.

In addition to program evaluation work, Dr. Griffin has extensive experience providing technical assistance to educators and administrators, particularly in struggling schools and districts. Previously, she served as a statewide mathematics content specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Dr. Griffin is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
