Melia Repko-Erwin
Melia Repko-Erwin is an education researcher and technical assistance provider whose work centers on strengthening PK–12 teaching and learning through rigorous mixed methods research, evidence-based literacy and language development practices, and high-quality professional learning. Her portfolio spans federal, state, and district projects focused on teacher professional development, PK-12 literacy, mentoring and induction, educator workforce sustainability, and the design and implementation of instructional improvement initiatives.
Dr. Repko-Erwin has led and contributed to studies funded by the U.S. Department of Education, as well as state and local education agencies, serving as project director, qualitative lead, and content expert across a wide range of research and evaluation efforts. She is skilled in designing and conducting implementation studies, engaging diverse interest holders, and translating complex evidence into actionable insights for educators and policymakers.
Prior to her research career, Dr. Repko-Erwin spent more than 15 years as a PK–12 teacher, instructional coach, and school leader in Arizona, Washington, D.C., and Colorado. She has extensive experience supporting educators through job-embedded coaching, districtwide professional learning, and the development of tools and resources that help teachers implement high-quality literacy and instructional practices.
