Laura Checovich

Laura Checovich has extensive experience helping researchers, technical assistance providers, and education leaders use evidence to inform policy and practice. At AIR, Checovich leads research translation and knowledge mobilization efforts for multiple federally funded and philanthropic initiatives, developing and implementing methods that make research accessible and actionable for diverse audiences.

Checovich oversees research translation and outreach activities for projects including the Strategic Funding and Finance Center, Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest, Community Schools Southern Partnership for Advancement, Resources, & Knowledge (CS-SPARK), and Center for STEM Education Research and Translation. Her work includes the development of multimedia products designed to expand the reach and use of research findings. In overseeing this work, she collaborates closely with researchers and partners to ensure outreach products are responsive to stakeholder needs and that resources are accessible, relevant, and useful.

Checovich has extensive experience working with state and local education agencies and serves as a strategic thought partner on initiatives that support evidence-based decision-making. She is a recognized leader within AIR in research dissemination, knowledge translation, and the application of outreach strategies to technical assistance and evaluation projects.

Prior to AIR, Checovich worked in policy network development for the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), where she supported efforts to foster uptake of research and policy best practices with education leaders across the country. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
