Laura Checovich

Laura Checovich reaches and informs stakeholders through a combination of events, documentaries, workshops, newsletters, videos, and social media. She is attentive to how the audiences reached by her work, from state policymakers to classroom teachers, consume information and works closely with researchers and technical assistance providers to create resources that meet their needs.

Checovich implements effective and engaging communication systems that enable routine, ongoing assessment of client and recipient needs as well as feedback on services provided. She has managed communications for the Research on Education Strategies to Advance Recovery and Turnaround (RESTART) Network, Region 9 Comprehensive Center, Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest, and, prior to being hired at AIR, the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). She has extensive experience working with state and local education agencies as a strategic thought partner. 

Checovich is a leader within AIR on methods and strategies for communication about research and evaluation and translating knowledge for use in technical assistance. She is a certified project management professional (PMP).
