Courtney Thatcher

Courtney Thatcher has extensive experience in leading analyses and implementing data-driven solutions across for-profit, non-profit, and academic sectors. At AIR, she leads, designs, and supports interdisciplinary projects involving AI and data pipeline solutioning, agentic AI, network analyses, spatial statistics, and machine learning along with providing feedback and quality control for projects and proposals.

Dr. Thatcher is currently the project director and PI on an IES Seedlings to Scale grant that is building a tool to support peer-mediated learning. She has served in senior roles on multiple federal projects including as technical lead on a large microsimulation project and project director for a social media intelligence tool focusing on trends in product use and perception. 

Previously, Dr. Thatcher was an associate professor at the University of Puget Sound and co-PI on an interdisciplinary geography and data science NSF REU. During this time, she designed and taught numerous courses in mathematics, statistics, and data science, and supervised over a dozen undergraduate research projects.
