Govern With, Not For: A School Board Toolkit for Building Student Partnership
This interactive toolkit offers a way to for school boards to learn about the spectrum of student partnership, guidance to design what's possible, and tools to help get there.
When Boards partner with students, they experience:
- Sharper insights. Students can surface learning needs, safety issues, and mental health trends that formal data collection often misses.
- Fewer mistakes. Boards reshape policies, programs, and investments in ways that would miss the mark without including students.
- A civic dividend. Students become more active, informed citizens, and engaged community members when engaged with boards.
- Strengthened trust. Boards that prioritize student voice build trust between governance and school communities.
