AIR greatly values diversity, equity, and inclusion among its staff, and the Summer Internship Program helps AIR build a pipeline of diverse and skilled talent. AIR’s Summer Internship Program is a 10-12 week paid summer program for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students. The program gives interns an opportunity to work with professionals across AIR’s divisions, gain hands-on professional experience through project work, and provides networking opportunities to build lasting professional connections. This program is just one of the ways that AIR works to identify, attract, and build a diverse pipeline of skilled future talent.

Through the Eyes of an Intern

In this video, Communications intern Keyddi Johanson talks about her experience participating in AIR’s Intern and Scholar Program. Follow along as Keyddi attends professional and social events, connects with other interns and AIR staff, and gets hands-on experience in the field she’s been studying. AIR’s program not only gives interns the opportunity to apply their skills in a professional environment, but it also helps us build a pipeline of diverse and skilled talent to draw upon when filling full-time positions at AIR.

The Summer Internship Experience

Meet summer interns who worked in our Education Statistics department and learn what projects they worked on.

AIR hosts various activities and events throughout the summer to provide opportunities for interns to interact with staff across the organization and with other interns. Over the course of the summer, we host several learning events focused on a variety of subject matters (i.e., networking, divisions at AIR, and diversity, equity, & inclusion) that are intended to enhance the internship experience and promote professional development.
