National Disability Policy: A Progress Report
On October 31, 2011, the National Council on Disability (NCD) released National Disability Policy: A Progress Report. This annual progress report describes the current state of people with disabilities in America. AIR contributed to the development of this report by working with NCD staff to identify the data for inclusion, creating charts and graphs for the report, and ensuring the final document was edited and fully 508-compliant for submission to the White House and the U.S. Congress.
About the report
Indicators reveal vast disparities between people with and without disabilities in the United States. Overall, people with disabilities have lower employment rates, lower annual earnings, lower educational attainment and achievement; lack adequate access to housing, transportation, technology and health care; and are more likely to live in poverty.
