Adolescent Literacy Intervention Programs: Chart and Program Review Guide

It is increasingly clear that targeting beginning readers is not enough to ensure that students will have access to advanced education and will become economically successful citizens who fulfill their obligations for social and civic participation. In this paper, the author describes characteristics of programs developed for adolescents who are struggling with literacy.

The paper references both a chart the author developed to compare and contrast those characteristics and a review guide she created to help schools make principled decisions when choosing programs for use with their students.
