Supporting the National Reporting System (NRS) for Adult Education
In the late 1990s, the U.S. Department of Education’s Division of Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL) developed the National Reporting System (NRS) for accountability in adult education, focused on data quality and using data for ongoing program improvement.
Through eight projects spanning over 25 years, AIR has led the technical support project for the NRS. To support state implementation of the NRS, AIR conducts national and regional trainings, administers a web-based technical assistance site, develops and conducts online courses and offers direct technical assistance to states.
The NRS website includes training materials and other TA resources. AIR also provides statistical analyses of NRS data and support with policy analysis around accountability to DAEL under this contract.
