Substance Abuse Youth Topic Page on Youth.gov
AIR recently launched a new Substance Abuse Youth Topic on Youth.gov to provide information and resources for youth-serving agencies. The new topic provides information and resources focused on substance abuse prevalence, risk and protective factors, warning signs, screening assessments, and prevention and treatment.
Youth.gov (formerly FindYouthInfo.gov) is the website of the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs, a collaborative partnership of 12 federal departments and five federal agencies committed to offering resources that support youth in leading positive and healthy lives. AIR, on behalf of the Interagency Working Group, manages and develops new content, disseminates current research and news about youth, and provides tools and resources on effective youth programs for Youth.gov.
September is Recovery Month
September is National Recovery Month. Recovery month began in 1989 to celebrate treatment and recovery professionals and has evolved to include all aspects of behavioral health. Recovery Month celebrates individuals living healthy lives in long-term recovery and promotes the message that “behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover” (see About Recovery Month for more).
