Promoting Program Accountability in Adult Education

Project

AIR has helped develop the National Reporting System for Adult Education (NRS). In the fourth phase of support, AIR is continuing to improve data quality, use, and monitoring, as well helping implement any changes to the NRS due to Federal legislation. AIR is

  • Developing technical assistance materials, providing training, and developing an online distance education course to support the collection and reporting of high-quality data; image of two women learning at computers
  • Assisting states and local programs to effectively use performance data to manage, evaluate, and improve the delivery of instructional services to adults;
  • Establishing and convening a technical working group to provide guidance on trainings and technical assistance provided under this contract;
  • Providing technical support to the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) on the ongoing implementation of the NRS;
  • Revising NRS guidelines and related documents as directed by OVAE;
  • Analyzing annual state performance data to assist OVAE in determining how well states perform on the core measures of performance;
  • Developing information materials and products designed to educate and inform interested publics on adult education performance;
  • Maintaining the NRSWeb site and other online portals as directed by OVAE; and
  • Developing annual and summary reports on the progress of NRS.
