Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) Task Order Project

The IDEA Part D Program Analysis, Communication, Dissemination, and Meetings Multiple Award Task Order (MATO) for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), assists OSEP in evaluating program outcomes, analyzing policy options, and proactively communicating research-based knowledge for improving results for children with disabilities to multiple audiences. The MATO supports OSEP's Division of Research to Practice (RTP) in its implementation of the Part D National Programs of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) through three types of activities:

  1. Analytical and logistical support for meetings and project evaluations;
  2. Development and dissemination of products; and
  3. Quick turnaround analyses of program issues.

AIR has worked directly with RTP policy makers through the MATO since 1992, and our work has included developing the Tool Kit for Teaching and Assessing Students with Disabilities, Annual Part D reports to Congress, supporting evaluations of OSEP-funded programs and projects, and conducting an annual Project Directors' Conference.
