Education and Homeless Cross-system Collaboration

Collaboration between education and homeless systems can be challenging due to differences in organizational culture, legal guidelines, nomenclature, goals, data, and deadlines. Vision, trust, and mental models (assumptions) can seem less important but can also block effective collaboration if not aligned.

AIR is working with The National Center for Homeless Education on a five-year effort to improve collaboration between the education and homeless systems. Our experts are producing a review of cross-system collaboration literature with practical tools for working together across various system levels, and webinars to provide (1) a cross-system collaboration framework and (2) concrete tools to foster better collaboration across the two systems. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
