Career Pathways for Individuals with Disabilities (CPID)
Virginia's vocational rehabilitation agencies offer individuals with disabilities a new way to navigate their careers. Career Pathways for Individuals with Disabilities (CPID) helps individuals with disabilities obtain new skills and credentials to seek employment in competitive, high-demand, high-quality occupations.
CPID’s business-driven approach focuses on two industry sectors: Modern Manufacturing and Information Technology. CPID has more than 10 project partners in education, workforce development, and business, ensuring stewardship of funding and systems alignment. AIR conducts both implementation and outcome evaluations of the project, which will look at systems integration in the state and the potential to expand this model to other states.
The CPID Demonstration grant is funded through a grant awarded to the Virginia Departments for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and for the Blind and Vision Impaired by the Rehabilitation Services Administration.
