Victoria Cirks

Principal TA Consultant

Victoria Cirks is a principal technical assistance consultant at AIR. Cirks has ten years of experience providing technical assistance and designing and facilitating training and professional development at the state, district, and school level to improve student outcomes. She serves as the Iowa State Manager for the Midwest Comprehensive Center (MWCC), managing the center’s technical assistance to the Iowa Department of Education. She also serves as the MWCC project lead for the Iowa Competency-based Education project and leads a regional deeper learning initiative for MWCC and the Great Lakes Comprehensive Center. In addition, she works with the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest as the alliance lead for the Rural Research Alliance, facilitating the development of a rural research agenda and leading regional rural outreach. She also leads work related to employability skills for the Michigan Career Pathways project. 

Previously, Cirks worked with AIR's College and Career Readiness and Success Center as a technical assistance liaison to four regional comprehensive centers and served as the outreach task leader. She served as a project lead for the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Center, managing technical assistance to the Ohio Department of Education for its competency-based education policy and safe and supportive learning projects. In addition, she served as  project lead for the career and technical education (CTE) standards revision project, working with the Indiana Department of Education to increase the rigor of its CTE standards, and has worked with the National High School Center on high school improvement and college and career readiness initiatives. She has assisted state education agencies in their implementation of Race to the Top, provided school and district level support for response to intervention initiatives and has conducted audits of the written, taught, and tested curriculum in multiple districts of New York City schools. Prior to joining AIR, Cirks served as a school-based program coordinator for a 21st Century Community Learning Center program.
