Dr. Marilyn Moon to Discuss Medicare Options at a Capitol Hill Briefing Hosted by the Alliance for Health Reform and the Kaiser Family Foundation

Washington, D.C. – Dr. Marilyn Moon, a Medicare expert and director of the Center on Aging at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), will discuss the scenarios facing Medicare beneficiaries in a panel discussion January 13 on Capitol Hill hosted by the Alliance for Health Reform (AHR) and the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF).

The briefing, “Healthier and Wealthier, or Sicker and Poorer? Prospects for Medicare Beneficiaries Now and in the Future,” takes place at 12:15 p.m. ET in Room G-50 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

Dr. Moon, a nationally recognized economist and expert on Medicare, aging, consumer health issues, and health care financing, is an Institute Fellow at AIR and former public trustee for the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds. She will describe the impact some cost-saving proposals now before Congress would have on many Medicare recipients.

Other participants include Dan Perry, president of the Alliance for Aging Research; Gretchen Jacobson, associate director of Medicare policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation; Jim Capretta, senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center; and Tricia Neuman, senior vice president of KFF.
