AIR’s Deborah Parrish and Tom Parrish Participate in UNICEF Conference in Moscow on Inclusive Education for Children with Disabilities
Washington, D.C. – American Institutes for Research (AIR) Vice President Deborah Parrish and Managing Research Scientist Tom Parrish are participating in a conference, “Regional Conference On Inclusive Education For Children With Disabilities,” held in Moscow, Russia, September 27-29, 2011. The conference is sponsored by UNICEF, with support from the Moscow City Government.
Deborah Parrish has over 25 years of experience in applying research and evaluation findings to the implementation of effective practices in educational and prevention services settings. Tom Parrish has more than 30 years experience with school and district reform projects and school finance issues.

The conference focuses on the various inter-related barriers that children with disabilities face in the Central and Eastern European and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CEECIS) region of the world. It also highlights global trends in inclusive education – a specific approach to educating children with special educational needs – and how the CEECIS region fits with current trends.
