AIR Expert to Discuss “Public Engagement and School Improvement” at the ASCD Annual Conference in San Francisco

Washington, D.C. – Patrick Riccards, a communications and education expert with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), will discuss “Moving from Good Ideas to Real Results: Public Engagement and School Improvement” during a March 26, 2011 presentation at the ASCD’s 66th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show in San Francisco, Calif.

Thousands of educators – including teachers, principals, superintendents and school board members – will attend the March 26 to 28, 2011 conference, which is built on the theme of “Bold Actions for Complex Challenges” and aimed at allowing participants to discuss and share strategies for the challenges facing education.

Riccards, executive director of Communications and Public Affairs at AIR, was named one of the top communications professionals in the nation by PRWeek in 2009 and has previously worked with International Baccalaureate, National Governors Association, National Reading Panel, U.S. Department of Education and others organizations. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Falls Church City (Va.) School Board and is the author of the popular Eduflack education blog.
