Tania Dutta

Tania Dutta has more than 15 years of experience leading and managing projects on behavioral health, community and stakeholder engagement in clinical research, value-based payment, healthcare reform, quality measurement in healthcare, and health equity. She is a PMP-certified manager with experience in change management, strategic planning, business development, as well as successful completion of complex projects through cross-organizational collaboration and cross-functional teams.

Dutta directs a project for the San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services that evaluates over 20 behavioral health programs that provide services to individuals with mental health or substance use conditions. AIR provides recommendations to the County leadership on program improvements that would better meet the needs of individuals who receive services through these County programs. Dutta also manages the Innovation in Behavioral Health contract for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. This contract supports the federal effort to improve outcomes for Medicare and Medicaid Recipients with mental health or substance use conditions. 

Previously, Dutta led several tasks for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), including the PCORI Translation Center and PCORI’s foundational expectations for partnerships in research. She has also led tasks for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Kaiser Family Foundation. Prior to joining AIR, Dutta worked at the Center for Medical Technology Policy, where her role was to lead and manage research and policy projects at the interface of regulatory and reimbursement policy, market access, comparative effectiveness, and outcomes measurement.
