Richard Jacik

Richard Jacik is chief technology officer at AIR, where he guides the continuous improvement of the institution's technology strategy, infrastructure, and data systems. This includes overseeing AIR’s Information Technology (IT) team, which designs and manages the organization’s internal system, and Technology Solutions, which works directly in support of clients to further their missions.

A programmer by trade, Jacik has worked in IT and the digital space for more than 25 years and has deep expertise in designing, building, and managing complex IT programs. Before joining AIR, Jacik served as chief digital officer for Brillient, where he helped lead digital transformation efforts for federal government agencies and commercial clients. Jacik previously served as a principal with IMI Services, senior vice president and health sector executive at Acentia, and vice president and senior account executive at CGI.

During his career, Jacik has worked with several large federal agencies, especially in the health sector, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Defense Health Agency, and the Office of the National Coordinator.

Jacik is listed as the primary inventor of numerous patents, both granted and pending, on topics including collaborative AI, federated machine learning, and AI infrastructure enablement.

In March 2025, Jacik was inaugurated into the George Mason University (GMU) College of Engineering and Computing Academy of Excellence, which honors those who have made considerable contributions to the field of engineering or computing throughout their careers. He was appointed industry chair of GMU’s AI-in-Gov Council and chair of the university’s Computer Science External Advisory Board.
