Donna Perlmutter

Donna Perlmutter has more than 30 years of experience directing and managing research studies for academic institutions and federal and state agencies. Perlmutter is experienced in the areas of project planning, budgeting, resource management, implementation, and management. She is skilled in interviewing techniques, quality control measures, and data collection. Her experience with primary data collection includes survey management and survey implementation utilizing a range of data collection methods: in depth interviews, focus groups, in person, web, telephone surveys using computer assisted telephone interviewing, and mail surveys.

Perlmutter is trained in Human Research Protections, Institutional Review Board procedures and protocols, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and Personal Health Information confidentiality and security. She also has experience in developing standard operating procedures, and staff training and oversight. Perlmutter is experienced in developing detailed staffing plans and contingency plans for projects and several types of field implementation.

Prior to joining AIR, Perlmutter worked for the Epidemiology and Pathology departments of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), overseeing various clinical and epidemiological research protocols in women’s health, occupational health, nutrition, osteoarthritis, smoking, and cancer research. While at UMSOM, she oversaw the daily activities, project development, management, and patient recruitment of lung, prostate, pancreas, liver, and breast cancer patients at multiple Maryland hospitals.
