Ashley Roberts

Senior Researcher

Ashley Roberts is a senior researcher at AIR with more than a decade of experience in analyzing U.S. federal data for national and international statistical indicators and managing the production of indicator reports. She excels in technical report writing, data analysis, and translating research for a variety of audiences. She is also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with extensive expertise in managing project scope, budget, quality, timelines, workflow, resources, communication, and client relations.

As the lead researcher for the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Arts Statistics and Evidence-Based Reporting Center, Roberts developed a framework for arts indicators and maintains key statistical indicators, significantly contributing to the understanding and visibility of arts data. Her work involves researching federal data sets and consulting with key arts researchers, policy makers, and practitioners to develop comprehensive indicator reports. Additionally, as a task lead for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) Data Analytics and Evaluation Support project, she supports the OESE Data Governance Board.

Previously, Roberts supported the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) in international education comparisons. From 2012 to 2025, she represented the U.S. at Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) meetings, developed methodologies, and conducted analyses of NCES and other national data sources to provide U.S. education statistics for OECD and UNESCO collections. She also reviewed OECD reports, such as Education at a Glance, to ensure the accurate portrayal of U.S. data, policies, and systems. She also supported content development for NCES’s Digest of Education Statistics tables and Condition of Education indicators using OECD data.

Roberts also served as project director for the Federal Interagency Forums from 2015 to 2023. She managed the production of America’s Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, a report released by the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, and Older Americans: Key Indicators of Well-Being, a report released by the Federal Interagency Forum on Aging-Related Statistics. In this role, Roberts managed report publication cycles, including content collection, meeting support, and information flow among more than two dozen federal agencies.
