She also served as the project director for an IES-funded systematic review of research on postsecondary advising strategies, which involved conducting a systematic literature search and reviewing 24 studies that met inclusion criteria using the Online Study Review Guide. She also led the development of a policy and practice scan of postsecondary advising strategies, which involved focus groups with administrators at 59 colleges. Together, the systematic review and the policy and practice scan led to the identification and of gaps between research and practice with respect to postsecondary advising.

Dr. Feygin is skilled in a range of study designs, data collection approaches, and analysis methods. She has worked with large-scale state and district administrative datasets, as well as collected and analyzed qualitative data from focus groups and interviews. She has led research studies that use experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational research methods. As a researcher, she prioritizes collaborating with practitioners to support their use of evidence through conducting training and coaching to facilitate interpretation and application of research findings to problems of practice, presenting at practitioner-oriented conferences, and publishing findings in accessible formats to support access to evidence. She is author or co-author of seven REL research reports and has led several training and coaching projects that support the use of research evidence.
