Event: Thurs., June 20 – Evaluation Reform: Finding Solutions through Teachers
Date: Thursday, June 20, 2013
Time: 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM (EDT)
Place: American Institutes for Research, 1000 Thomas Jefferson Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007
The movement to overhaul teacher evaluation is well underway. Despite some progress, many reforms have sputtered or run into controversy, often because policymakers have not fully considered teachers’ concerns. If states and districts want long-term success for their reforms, teachers must be brought to the table. Join us to explore ways to do that effectively.
American Institutes for Research (AIR) and Public Agenda invite you to a discussion on how education leaders can avoid frustration and arrive at sustainable teacher evaluation systems by engaging teachers in design and implementation. Co-authors of the new book, Everyone at the Table, will present their field-tested approach to productive dialogue that leads to effective policy. Hear what teachers have to say about current evaluation systems, learn about efforts afoot to include teachers in evaluation reform, and explore ways to expand these efforts nationwide.
