Through communities of practice, large group presentations, intimate workshops, virtual coaching, and extensive use of online tools AIR consultants and researchers deliver high quality professional development, training, and coaching using evidence-based strategies and adult-learning research. By blending a variety of approaches including in-person and distance-learning training, as well as individualized coaching, AIR supports organizational change and the transfer of knowledge and skills, all suited to meet the specific needs of our clients.
Most frequently our work begins with needs assessment and then shifts to development of training and professional development materials, which are often customized to the client and end-user. With these tools, we equip our staff and often skilled local instructors or coaches on the content and processes necessary to achieve the desired outcomes. The National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments uses innovative training toolkits to teach school faculty, and even bus drivers, practice ways to improve school climate in 700-plus schools in 11 states.
