FEATURED RESOURCE
Video: Strengthening Family Involvement to Improve Outcomes for Children - Watch AIR experts discuss how family engagement may improve both academic outcomes and mental health for children.

Mounting evidence indicates that family engagement in education is a necessary component for positive student outcomes and overall school improvement. Families whose children face challenging circumstances that are complicated by poverty, health-related issues, behavior problems, and gender identityare most in need of support. States, districts, and schools are seeking innovative ways to effectively partner with families in support of learning.

AIR uses a practical approach that is based on a framework grounded in research to build state, district, and school capacity, helping them to recognize their individual and collective responsibility for family engagement and facilitating the necessary collaboration for developing a robust and systemic family engagement that is a priority at every level of the educational enterprise.
