Best Practices, Strategies, and Recommendations for Improving School Climate and Culture
As states move forward with implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the topic of school climate is becoming increasingly important. Some states have included school climate as an indicator in their accountability plans, while others may be seeking more effective ways to improve their school environments and ultimately teaching and learning.
This report by the Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC) at AIR summarizes 15 resources, which describe evidence-based approaches and interventions that may help to improve school climate and culture. Specific best practices, strategies, and recommendations are detailed, and links to the resources are included in the summaries.
