The New Leaders Aspiring Principals Fellowship program is designed to develop future school leaders by building their competencies across five key areas of the New Leaders Transformational Leadership Framework: personal leadership, teaching and learning, school culture, talent management, and planning and operations. AIR is conducting a rigorous mixed-methods evaluation of the program, which is supported by a Department of Education Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant.

As part of this evaluation, AIR will conduct a quasi-experimental impact study that meets What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) standards with reservations, focusing on student and teacher outcomes during the 2023–24 and 2024–25 school years. We are also conducting a formative evaluation, using both quantitative and qualitative methods, to assess how well the program is being implemented and to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
