Building International Capacity for Science & Innovation Policy
The Center for the Science of Science & Innovation Policy (CSSIP) works with science funding organizations and research institutions to help them better understand their research portfolios and track the results of their science investments.
CSSIP work informs the regional, national and international debate on research measurement and accountability in several ways:
- Describing research investments to better identify research strengths, gaps, and changes over time
- Describing researcher activity to better identify promising and productive individuals and networks;
- Describing the results of research to better document the results of science investments.
The Center uses new open source tools and technologies to leverage and link existing data on scientific activities; develops theoretically and empirically sensible measures to describe the links between science investments and scientific, economic and social results; and works with national and international organizations to build an open community of practice.
