Taishya Adams

Senior TA Consultant

Taishya Adams serves as a senior technical assistance consultant at AIR. Adams serves as co-deputy director of the Midwest Comprehensive Center (MWCC). In this role, she develops, implements, and monitors a coordinated strategy to build the capacity of state education agency staff, districts leaders, and partners to increase the academic outcomes of the students in their states. Adams works to infuse equity (e.g., access, representation, meaningful participation, and quality) into all MWCC projects with state education agencies, districts, and schools in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Adams also serves as the Regional Educational Laboratory Midwest's Minnesota and Illinois Liaison. Adams serves on the charter school group at AIR, and has served as a consultant to the National Charter School Resource Center.

Prior to joining AIR, Adams served as the director of state services for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools (NAPCS) and as a performance officer with the D.C. Public Charter School Board. Adams is the founding Board President for New Legacy Charter School, a charter high school and early learning center for teen parents and their children in Aurora, Colorado.
