Rui Yang is a senior researcher at AIR. His major areas of interest and expertise include program and project evaluation, experimental design, measurement of non-cognitive skills, and cross-cultural comparisons. In particular, Dr. Yang specializes in the theory and application of various quantitative methods, including hierarchical modeling, social network analysis, item response theory, structural equation modeling, and propensity score matching.
Dr. Yang has served as the lead analyst for four large experimental and quasi-experimental studies and leads several projects in survey validation as well as in measuring various student dispositions. Dr. Yang has served as a reviewer for multiple journals. He regularly presents at national conferences and his research is published in Educational Researcher and Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness.
