Rachel Levenstein is a survey methodologist at AIR. Dr. Levenstein has extensive experience in survey methods in K-12 settings, including survey development and pretesting, data collection, data processing and analysis, and data dissemination.
She is currently working on the Challenging Academic State Standards Study led by the Center on Standards, Alignment, and Learning (C-SAIL), a major U.S. Department of Education initiative to understand how standards have been implemented in four states. In addition to leading survey administration activities, she has also worked on survey questionnaire development, web survey instrument design, and survey pretesting.
Prior to joining AIR in 2015, she worked at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research. At the Consortium, she oversaw all aspects of the annual census of roughly 225,000 Chicago Public Schools students and teachers, including content design and pretesting, data collection, documentation, item analysis, and tests for response bias.
