Megan Sambolt

Senior Researcher

Megan Lebow Sambolt is a senior researcher at AIR. She currently serves as the College and Career Readiness and Success Center's Knowledge Generation team leader, providing support and technical assistance for college and career readiness. Sambolt’s work on the Center has been integral in developing an organizer to help state education agencies and local education agencies discuss college and career readiness and a corresponding line of products.

Additionally, Sambolt serves as the study coordinator for the assessment team for the Good Behavior Game Professional Development study, a multi-year randomized field trial funded by IES. As a part of this team, she facilitates communication with a cohort of schools, manages remote data collectors, and spearheads the data collection scheduling process throughout the school year.

Previously, Sambolt served as the Products and Tools Team Leader for the National High School Center, focusing on both college and career readiness and high school improvement. She contributed to a set of sub-indicators for high school, LEA and SEA improvement, and was an essential part of the Center’s support for the implementation of the School Improvement Grants. Most recently, Sambolt authored a pocket guide for AIR, Promoting College and Career Readiness, designed to support states as they implement ESEA flexibility plans. She also has background in teacher effectiveness and teacher preparation work, including contributions to a feasibility study of a large-scale randomized field trial on teacher hiring practices.

Prior to working at AIR, Sambolt worked as a middle school teacher in New York City, New York.
