Karen Frazier

Senior Researcher

Karen Frazier is a senior researcher at AIR with nearly a decade of experience in health services and communication research. Much of her work focuses on managing projects and tasks related to assessing access to care, especially vulnerable populations; eliminating health disparities; and engaging patients, families, and communities in healthcare, research, and measurement. She currently leads an Arthritis Foundation project studying patient perceptions of advanced practice providers in rheumatology care and serves as a regional lead for a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study to understand disparities in rural-urban child and adolescent vaccination rates.

Dr. Frazier is an experienced qualitative researcher trained in conducting interviews, focus groups, and qualitative analysis. She is responsible for designing research studies, conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups, analyzing the results of qualitative research, managing and leading project tasks and budgets, conducting literature reviews, and contributing to reports and proposals. Along with the CDC and the Arthritis Foundation, Dr. Frazier has managed projects and tasks for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
