Jaime Singer

Jaime S. Singer is a principal technical assistance consultant at AIR in the Education Systems and Policy program area. Singer is a skilled facilitator, trainer, and subject matter expert in both formal and informal education, with a focus on working across intersecting systems that support youth and their development. She has directed work at the federal, state, and local levels, bridging research and practice through learning opportunities that are grounded in evidence and encompass the principles of adult learning. Singer is a certified Project Management Professional through Project Management Institute and has expertise in developing, implementing, and managing projects related to continuous quality improvement.

Singer has been the lead for the Training, Coaching, and Technical Support task for the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Midwest since 2017. In this role, she collaborates with REL Midwest partnerships, state and local education agency staff, REL Midwest leadership team members, and project leads to design and implement responsive projects to build capacity of REL Midwest stakeholders to use data and research for continuous improvement.

Singer joined the Human Capital and Talent Development Strategy team at AIR as the performance management lead for the Human Services Division in 2022. In her role, Singer supports approximately 160 staff managers on topics related to performance management. Singer develops and facilitates sessions for staff to better understand the performance management system and its implementation.

Singer was the project director for AIR’s work with the C.S. Mott Foundation Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative (ATAC) and moved into a quality assurance role in 2022. ATAC is a group of organizations designed to support the Mott-funded Statewide Afterschool Networks. Through this work, Singer oversees AIR’s support for the semi-annual national convenings and AIR’s support to Statewide Afterschool Network leads on topics related to quality afterschool programming and social and emotional learning.

Singer is co-author of the fourth edition of the seminal afterschool resource, Beyond the Bell®: A Toolkit for Creating Effective Afterschool and Expanded Learning Programs, a resource for afterschool program leaders and staff. Singer has presented at national, regional, and statewide conferences on topics such as developing and implementing project-based learning activities in afterschool programs, incorporating social and emotional learning into programming, evaluation, and using data for continuous program improvement.
