Eloisa Montes

Principal Communications Specialist

Eloisa Montes has more than 18 years of experience developing and managing health promotion projects for various populations, including Hispanic, African-American, LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender), and communities with limited health literacy. As an experienced manager, Montes has been responsible for the execution of various federal contracts, including program planning, staff management, and budget monitoring for various clients including the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, and the Office of Minority Health.

In her work with ODPHP, Montes has provided leadership and managed teams of writers, designers, content experts, and developers working to develop materials in support of the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines and the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. As project director for HIV TLC—Testing and Linking Minority Patients to Care, Montes managed the development of tools and information to help providers incorporate HIV screening into their practice. Most recently, as Task Lead for We Can Stop HIV One Conversation at a Time and HIV Treatment Works, she leads community engagement and outreach activities for these multichannel CDC campaigns. She has a successful history of managing and coordinating activities with numerous consultants, subject matter experts and advisory committees to develop plain language consumer materials, publications, papers, policy recommendations, presentations, and Web content.
