Coretta Mallery

Principal Researcher

Coretta Mallery is a principal researcher with academic training in measurement and evaluation; quantitative and qualitative research methods; educational psychology; clinical mental health counseling; and human development. She has extensive experience collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.

Dr. Mallery has contributed to research on stakeholder engagement in patient centered outcomes research; children’s mental health; disparities in education; community influences on mental health; leadership in mental health; and adolescent delinquency. She has more than eight years of experience providing direct service to youth and families as either an educator or counselor; and researching and writing about issues related to child, youth, and family mental health. Dr. Mallery serves as project manager on the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) Effective Health Care Program Community Forum project.

In addition to project management duties, one of her main roles is to lead an evaluation of stakeholder engagement methods in the EHC Program. This includes instrument development, data collection, data analysis, and report writing. She is also the lead on a research effort to uncover innovative practices for stakeholder engagement which includes a literature review and interviews with key informants involved with stakeholder engagement. Finally, she supports and manages the Effective Health Care Program (EHC) Stakeholder Group, which is a formal body appointed by AHRQ to advise the EHC on decision making related to comparative effectiveness research.
