Betheny Lyke is director of the Illinois Center for School Improvement (Illinois CSI), a partnership between the Illinois State Board of Education and AIR. The goal of Illinois CSI is to create and support high-performing districts in order to have high-achieving districts. Previously, Dr. Lyke taught in the Chicago Public School System for three years and Thornwood High School (South Holland, Illinois) for eight years. Her administrative career began at Thornwood as an assistant principal. She then was selected to be the principal of Thornton Township High School (Harvey, Illinois). After four years at Thornton, Dr. Lyke was moved into the position of assistant superintendent and during that time served one year as acting superintendent.
