Amy Mart is a researcher at AIR. She has over a decade of experience working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice to promote positive outcomes for young people. In her current role, Dr. Mart leads several research, evaluation, and consultation projects that focus on social and emotional learning (SEL) and school climate. She has extensive experience working at all levels of the K-12 education system, applying empirical and practical evidence to continuously improve conditions that support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Previously, Dr. Mart led the Office of Social and Emotional Learning at Chicago Public Schools and was a research fellow at the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). She also taught elementary school in Chicago Public Schools and worked as a counselor at a community-based youth service organization.
