Cambium Learning Group Completes Its Acquisition of Assessment Division of the American Institutes for Research
We are excited to announce that the acquisition of AIR Assessment by the Cambium Learning Group has been completed. The new business unit, Cambium Assessment, Inc. (“Cambium Assessment”), combined with the existing Cambium Learning companies, brings together advanced K-12 assessment services with research-based, individualized instruction, and a belief that every student has untapped potential.

AIR Assessment designed its systems so that they work with existing technology at schools without the need for sophisticated equipment or technical personnel. The systems support old operating systems, as well as the newest mobile devices. If your district is using AIR’s testing platform, only four things are required to prepare your school for online testing, and your school (most likely) already has three of them.

Data and computer scientists from AIR Assessment have created an artificial intelligence (AI) system that not only helps grade student work, it can also identify those who are at risk. Student Responses found in essays or short answer questions can sometimes contain sensitive information, such as cries for help, veiled threats, or even suicidal thoughts.
