Yan Wang
Yan Wang is a principal researcher at AIR. She is currently the project director for the ED School Climate Surveys, sponsored by NCES and leads AIR’s support for NAEP survey questionnaires and the IEA International Computer and Information Literacy Study. In 2017, ED will create school climate benchmark scores. These benchmark scores will be added to the platform's reporting functionality to enable comparisons between local and national scores.
Dr. Wang has more than 10 years of experience in the development of school-based questionnaires, web-based delivery systems, and computer-based assessment. Her recent work includes reviewing NAEP and international assessment frameworks, reviewing interactive computer tasks, developing and validating survey items, and managing data collections. She has authored several NCES statistical analysis reports and data file documentations. During 2011-2013, she led the assessment operation support for NAEP TEL and Science ICT development. As a project director for the SASS, TFS, and BTLS task during 2009-2011, she led a team to support general survey design, data processing and release, and statistical analysis for these NCES surveys.
