Wendi Carman is a senior education specialist with over 15 years of international development and education experience. She is project director for education programs at AIR, as well as the primary point of contact for AIR’s YouthPower consortium.
Ms. Carman's experience includes design, monitoring, evaluation, and management of basic education, community participation, and youth development programs. She taught middle school, English as a Second Language, family literacy, and non-formal adult basic education. Her special interests and areas of focus include instructional methods and materials development for adults and youth, behavior change communication, gender in education, and positive youth development.
Ms. Carman has held long-term positions in Tajikistan, Ecuador, and Mauritania. She has also managed education projects and conducted short-term assignments in Panama, Honduras, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Zambia, and Nigeria.
