Validation of Employment Practices

We have experience assessing the validity of employment practices based on content-oriented, criteria-related, and construct-oriented evidence. Our litigation-based work frequently includes analysis of the relationships among employment tests, the requirements of the job, and the job performance of incumbents.

In addition, AIR has been at the forefront of efforts designed to develop tests and selection systems that provide accurate prediction, are psychometrically sound, and reduce subgroup differences. Examples of these projects include:

  • National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee: Development of assessment instruments and criterion measures that will affect the way most of our nation’s future electricians will be selected and trained.
  • Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery: Development of specifications for science and technical tests aimed at reducing adverse impact against women and minorities while maintaining the levels of fairness and validity.
