User Interface Prototyping
At the early stages of product design, we create a computer-based prototype. A prototype is a semi-functional simulation of the product, and an inexpensive alternative to full technical implementation.
Using a prototyping package such as Macromedia Director, we implement just enough of the product’s user interface to let potential users explore the product’s functionality and comment on its usability. We have created software prototypes for a wide range of products including handheld devices, medical equipment, speech recognition dialogues, and computer software.
Our interactive software prototype for a pager allowed us to test the usability of a single-button design without the expense of hardware development.
